Requirements
Honours degree or other qualification (NQF Level 8) in Management, Administration, Finance or any other relevant field. A Master's degree shall be an added advantage.
The candidate should have seven (07) years’ work experience in an academic or research environment and at least five (05) years in a supervisor role.
Experience in grants and project management would be advantageous. Advanced Proficiency in MS Office.
Knowledge of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET)’s Earmarked Grants and the underpinning frameworks.
Duties
Oversee the full grant lifecycle, from application and award to implementation, reporting, and closure to ensure compliance with grant SOPs.
Coordinate compilation and submission of applications and proposals, ensuring compliance with funder guidelines and institutional priorities.
Monitor programme performance, tracking expenditure, outputs, outcomes, and participant progress
Manage record-keeping and change requests, and compliance with funding conditions.
Develop and improve systems, tools, and procedures for operational efficiency and mitigation of risks.
Lead audit processes and compliance with reporting requirements to DHET.
Serve as the institutional Programme Manager for purposes of liaison with DHET and other relevant stakeholders.
Ensure participant support frameworks, including inductions, mentorship, networking, and professional development.
Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on grant processes, requirements, and best practices.
Contribute to departmental planning, supervise the grants team, and represent the department in institutional initiatives.
