Job Details

• A Master’s degree in Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Freshwater Ecology, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience at a tertiary institution, or five (5) years of relevant professional experience.
• Publications in peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed journals will be a strong recommendation.

Duties:

• Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching in Plant Ecophysiology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Contribute to teaching in related modules, including second-year Conservation Biology and first-year foundational Biology courses.
• Develop and sustain an active research profile in Plant Ecophysiology.
• Participate in interdisciplinary and collaborative research projects within and beyond the institution.
• Contribute to curriculum development and promote innovative teaching practices that enhance student learning experiences.
• Engage in departmental, faculty, and university service, including academic advising and quality assurance activities.
• Promote community engagement through outreach initiatives, partnerships with local organisations, and public education efforts related to plant science and environmental sustainability.
• Encourage and support student involvement in community-based projects and applied research.
• Foster an entrepreneurial mindset among students and colleagues by integrating innovation, sustainability, and real-world applications into teaching and research.
• Explore opportunities to translate research findings into practical solutions, technologies, or ventures that address ecological and agricultural challenges.
