Job Requirements
A Master’s degree in Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Freshwater Ecology, or a closely related field.
A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience at a tertiary institution, or five (5) years of relevant professional experience.
Publications in peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed journals will be a strong recommendation.
Duties:
Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching in Plant Ecophysiology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Contribute to teaching in related modules, including second-year Conservation Biology and first-year foundational Biology courses.
Develop and sustain an active research profile in Plant Ecophysiology.
Participate in interdisciplinary and collaborative research projects within and beyond the institution.
Contribute to curriculum development and promote innovative teaching practices that enhance student learning experiences.
Engage in departmental, faculty, and university service, including academic advising and quality assurance activities.
Promote community engagement through outreach initiatives, partnerships with local organisations, and public education efforts related to plant science and environmental sustainability.
Encourage and support student involvement in community-based projects and applied research.
Foster an entrepreneurial mindset among students and colleagues by integrating innovation, sustainability, and real-world applications into teaching and research.
Explore opportunities to translate research findings into practical solutions, technologies, or ventures that address ecological and agricultural challenges.
