Professor

Doctoral degree in Horticulture or related fields
At least 10 years teaching experience in tertiary institution or 7 years professional experience in the relevant field
At least 15 articles published in accredited journals, Chapters in a book and book publication
Evidence of supervision of at least four Master or Doctoral students
Mentoring and coaching of junior staff

Associate Professor:

Doctoral degree in Horticulture or related discipline
At least 10 years teaching experience in tertiary institution or 7 years professional experience in the relevant field.
At least 10 articles published in accredited journals, Chapters in a book and book publication
Evidence of supervision of at least four Masters/ Doctoral students

Job summary:

The candidate will be required to:

Lecture of students
Initiate, find funding for, perform and publish research
Supervise Honours, Masters and PhD students
Engage in community projects
Assist the department in developing and improving its curricula
Take part in departmental strategic planning workshops
Perform administrative tasks if required by the HoD
